The Boston Results Challenge…

This year I had the honor of serving as a member of the Results Challenge committee in the Boston office.   Every year each office gives a Results Challenge award to recognize the case or cases from the last 12 months that best exemplify Bain’s commitment to Shared Ambition and True Results.   Teams are chosen based on the results they have achieved, the client relationships they have built and the overall team experience.    The Results Challenge committee is tasked with running the entire process from encouraging teams to apply, choosing finalists and helping finalists prepare their presentations which are presented at the office’s Summer Meeting.

As a member of the committee, I had the opportunity to read the applications of the teams that applied to be finalists for Results Challenge.   It was inspiring to read about the incredible impact that each team had on both the clients they were working with and on Bain team members.   The applications shared amazing success stories which included helping a client realize huge cost savings and providing guidance as a client carried out a large scale supply chain transformation.   Teams also shared amazing team results including helping to get a Case Team Leader promoted to Manager, helping team members apply and get accepted into top business schools and achieving high case team scores throughout the project based on the satisfaction of the team.

Of the teams that applied, our committee chose three teams as Results Challenge finalists.   The finalists were then tasked with putting together presentations which were presented at the Bain Summer Meeting.    Through these presentations, the teams all brought their success stories to life.   In front of the entire office, presented by the associate consultant and consultant on the team, each finalist shared the results they had achieved.   All three teams did an amazing job!  One of my favorite parts of the presentations was the videos they shared.   The teams interviewed their clients who shared stories about what it was like to work with Bain and why they love Bain so much.   Watching these videos showed just how much impact the teams all had.   After the presentations, every member of the Boston office then voted on the team they thought had the best results story and from that we chose the winner of Boston Results Challenge.

It was an awesome experience to be a part of the process and learn about all of the amazing work our teams do and the impact they have on clients.
